Once you've purchased a
template, your purchase will be added to your members
page.
HOW DO I KNOW
WHICH MENU BAR I have in my website?
This
depends on which template package you downloaded from
your members page.
On your members page, you will see the link to download
your template package:

FrontPage DWT:
(FP2003 only)

FrontPage: (2002/2002/2003)
-
CSS for:
(Dreamweaver / HTML editors & FrontPage)
your members page
will be created for you with your first purchase

Your website includes 2 menu bar types.
- A vertical menu bar
- A horizontal menu bar
Both of these menu bars can easily be modified to
include additional pages, remove existing pages, and
change the names on the buttons to suit your needs.
The HORIZONTAL menu bar is standard for all
template packages.
The VERTICAL menu bar comes in 2 variations:
- FrontPage Vertical Menu Bar (for
Frontpage 2000 / 2002 / 2003 packages)
OR (depending on which
template version you've downloaded from your members
page)
- CSS Category Menu Bar (for Dreamweaver /
HTML Editors / and FrontPage all
versions**)
Learn how to edit your MENU Bar, by selecting
the menu bar type from the list below:

The CSS
Category Menu Bar can be used with all HTML editors.
For FrontPage users wanting to achieve the best Search
Engine Results, we recommend the
CSS Category Menu Bar.

How do I
change the background image
(the themed image up top)
|
Your web pages includes a 'themed'
image in the header, and sometimes in the body of the
page. You can change this image(s) with your own 'themed'
image(s).
- The themed image(s) are loaded from the 'images'
folder
- The themed image in the 'header' or top part of
the page is called "template-image-bg.jpg"
- The themed image in the 'intro' or
index.htm page is called "intro-image-bg.jpg"
- The themed image in the 'body' or content area
of the page is called "body-bg.jpg"
- not all templates included a body-bg.jpg image,
look in the images folder to be certain

Replace the 'template-image-bg.jpg', the
'intro-image-bg.jpg', or the 'body-bg.jpg'
images in the images folder and all your pages will
be updated

How do I
change the
4 flash images
(the 4 themed images)
|
Your web pages includes 4 'themed'
images in the flash header and (if included with the
template the INTRO). These images can be changed
without the need for Flash or Swish. Just replace these
images with your own
- The 4 themed image(s) are loaded from the 'images'
folder
- The themed image in the 'header' or top part of
the page are named:
- template-image1.jpg
- template-image2.jpg
- template-image3.jpg

How do I
change the
TEXT LOGO image
(the Website Name graphic)
FREE LOGO service includes:

the: 'Website Name' graphic image with your own text

Your website displays a 'generic' 'Website
Name' graphic in the header area of the web page.
This graphic image can be modified, or replaced with
your own 'graphic logo' image.
- The 'Website Name' is a
graphic image, embedded into an SWF file (logo.swf)
- The 'logo.swf' file, is
displayed in the 'top.swf' file
- The 'top.swf' file is
'animated flash' file that you see at the top of the
web page
- Both the 'logo.swf' and the 'top.swf'
files are located in the 'flash' folder of
your website
- if you do not want to display a
logo graphic, open the flash folder and delete the 'logo.swf'
file
- if you want to modify the
'Website name' with your own text, please watch the
video tutorial, or submit a request through your
members page for the FREE
LOGO service
- if you want to replace the
'Website Name' with a graphic image (perhaps a logo
image for your company or organization) we do
provide a service to do this, or you can watch the
video tutorial to learn how to do it your self
- GRAPHIC
LOGO IMAGE insertion is a service we
offer:
- FREE if the logo image provided
is in good shape, does not require resizing or
cleaning up
- $25-$35 if the graphic image
provided requires editing (eg: remove white
background, resizing)
- $25-$75 if you would like your
existing graphic logo 'recreated' or modified.

How do I
change the
Taglines
(the text that is displayed with the
images in the flash header)
|
Your web page includes a 'Tagline' for
each 'flash image' in the header of the page. Taglines
are a great way to included messages about your company,
product, or services. (NOT
AVAILABLE in ALL TEMPLATES)
- Each 'image' in the flash header
includes a tag line (match the text to the image as
you would do in an add)
- Each tag line can be edited
through a 'webpage' in your website
- NO NEED for any additional
software, just your HTML editor or textpad
- Each tag line can display
multiple lines of text
- Each line of text can be
displayed using a different font types, font sizes,
and font colors

How do I
change the
Search Box
(the GOOGLE site search)
|
A great way to help with your Google
listings, is to include a Google site search on your
web pages. Once your site has been spidered by Google,
your visitors will easily be able to locate information
in your website using the Google Search Box.

How do I
add and
remove pages

Ah, so simple, yet so elusive! There
are quite a few methods used to add and remove pages
from your website. Pick up some tips from our lead
designer, and learn how we save time and effort when
building websites.
- To add a new page, create a
duplicate of an existing page
- open the 'template.htm' page
- with the 'template.htm' page
open, click on the file menu
- select 'Save As' on the file menu
- in the 'File Name: box, type in a
new name for the page
(you'll create a duplicate of the open page)
- select the folder you wish to
save the new page to (or leave in the same folder as
the original)
- click 'Save'
- To remove a page, highlight, and
press delete on the keyboard
