QUIZ FEST AT ONU

The Varsity and JV Bible Quiz teams put on a powerful performance at the highly competitive “Quiz Fest” at Olivet Nazarene University, in Bourbonnais, Illinois on October 21, 2006.   Teams from as far away as Kansas City, Kansas, travel to ONU each October for this great quizzing event. 

The Varsity placed fourth out of a field of twenty teams, and was led in scoring by Aaron Miles, who placed thirteenth in total individual points at the tournament.   Jana Pierce and Trent Ernst also contributed substantive scoring to this team’s strong fourth place finish at the tournament.

The JV quiz team placed sixth out of eighteen teams.   Kylie McCalla was the team scoring leader, and earned tenth place individually at the tournament.   She was strongly supported by scoring from Stuart Shattuck and Craig Pierce, and contributions from newcomer to quizzing, Tori Stetler.  

The Mason First Church of the Nazarene Quiz Teams will compete again soon, with a November 4 Quiz scheduled at Jackson First Church of the Nazarene, and on November 18, Kalamazoo First Church of the Nazarene hosts an invitational attended by teams from all over the Midwest.    Both quiz meets start around 9:15 A.M., if you want to come cheer for your Quiz teams.
